USA Landcruiser Locks

1995 Landcruiser door locks remote control is flaky in wet weather, going into spasms open/closed for 30 seconds after locking doors by remote or driver's door switch. In dry weather the driver's door switch controls all power locks normally. Always the remote locks but fails to open doors. On trying to open, some solenoid clicks, but none of the locks move. Is something jammed? Is the computer/brain dead? Is the harness corroded? Why do Toyota dealers refuse to look at this and instead ask for $3500 to replace the computer and harness?

are you sure it's the solenoid that clicks, or just a relay in the car?

if the solenoid clicks, I'd say that something's just jamming them up a certain way, or maybe something's stripped....take one of the doors apart and take a look while you lock/unlock the doors ...
