replacing windshield in an 86

THe windshield on my truck needs to be replaced. I the PO gave me another one to install. I've replaced a few VW windshields but never a glue in. I'd like to try it myself before calling a glass shop. Any tips???

I plan on either using a thin cable or just cuttingit out with a razor. That is unless that takes too long then I'm breaking it.

Get someone to give you a hand and work a thin wire back and fourth all the way around the windshield then just push it out. Then it should be just a matter of cleaning it up with a razor blade.

How about installing the windshield???

getting it out is the easy part.

What do I use to glue it in, can I just caulk it.

lol...do not use caulk...use black urethane that is made for guleing windshields ...it is about 15 bucks a tube and you use a caulking gun to apply the urethane
