The OX locker sounds great. Unfotrunately, I only know of Dana applications. The rear cover of the Dana (D44 or D60) is removed and a heavy cover with the shifting mechanism is installed.

Toyota rear diffs, and the strong Ford 9'' diffs are not constructed with a removeable rear cover. They seperate from front of the axle housing with an integral third member/ring/pinion assembly.

ARB air lockers are good, as are Detroits.

I have a detroit in the rear of my 88 pickup and it works great. You can really tell it when power is added or removed because it makes the truck shift a little. If you don't ease off the gas in curves it will also make the front tires wear on the outside because it will still be trying to push you straight. They are supposed to unlock to allow for cornering but are hard to get to unlock

USA

Why would you need 4?

One locker up front and one locker out back...the locker locks the differential so that both tires turn equally.

I personally would not put a detroit in a front axle of a daily driven vehicle. Most lockers either replace the carrier to lock the axles together and some just replace the side and spider gears and use a clutch like system to lock the axles. If money isn't a consern I would put a detroit locker in the rear and a detroit true trac in the front. ARB lockers are said to be good but i have heard of the o-ring in the dif. where the air line comes in tends to mess up.

If you're not familiar with lockers, you're definitely NOT a candidate for a solid axle.

How many CV axles have you broken? Are you still able to get an alignment or is your suspension so bent than they can't do it anymore? How many idler arms have you destroyed?

What darren and I are trying to tell you is you don't even have 1 locker yet, let alone 2, so you don't know the limits of your truck. You may think you do, but based on your past questions, I don't think you do.

Do you care if you flop your truck on its side or rolling it? Do you care about mashing your doors into some boulders? Can you weld well enough to trust your life on it? With IFS, some armor, and some lockers, you can run the rubicon. Are you going to be doing trails as hard as or harder than the rubicon?

When you're ready for an SAS, you'll know it. You won't have to ask.

In the mean time, you can search around on www.pirate4x4.com for sas questions. I warn you, do NOT post any questions. SEARCH first, or you will be flamed so bad you'll be turned off of 4wheeling forever. Be sure to look through the FAQ in the toyota section.

I'm trying to guide you, but you have to do the leg work. Don't expect to learn everything in a couple days, it would take even me months to do the proper research to do a SAS and I already have an idea of what's involved.

Give the guy a break, obviously he knows there are advantages to a solid axle, doesn't take a genius to know the difference. Besides, what does locker locker knowledge have to do with the 150% more flex and dependability of a solid axle offroad?
