Question How to reset "Maint Required" light?

My 05 Tacoma just hit 5k and the "Maint. require" light came on. I ask the service dept how to turn off because I had already changed my oil at 3k including yota filter. He said I have to bring it in. Anyone know how to reset this light?

On the newer Lexus products with a maintenance light, you hold down the odometer trip reset button as you turn the engine on, and keep holding it down until the mileage appears. (It starts off as a series of dashes, and after a few seconds it shows the mileage again.)

It's in the owners manuel. You don't have to turn on your truck but you will have to hold down the reset button while you turn the key to the on position.

1.Stick the key in the ignition.
2.Make sure the odometer is on ODO and not tripmeter. When you have it on ODO, hold it down.
3. While still holding on the odo button, turn the key to the on position.
4. After ten seconds the light will start to blink and then go away.

I always start the car right after that, might not need to though.
