Exhaust question

I', looking into getting a new exhaust cause my old one is leaking everywhere.
I want to keep this as low buck as possible for now cause I have a project 944 that is near completion as well as a 92 Katana I'm playing with. I'm definately going with the cat back and even found a new cat for like $60. As for a header I figure I can hold out cause I have the dual downpipe.
Any suggestions as to where to get a good deal.

Can you pinpoint the leaks?

If you know where the leaks are, I suggest sealing them. I did this to mine two days ago, and I love the results. I have more power, sound, and better response. If you go this route buy some stuff called "Muffler Mender" by a manufacturer called Victor. Really great stuff.

Yeah it is leaking at both flanges in front and behind the cat. Basically the flanges are shot, not much metal left to hold them together. I was thinking of getting the cat and cat back exhaust, then see if I can make a good seal with the down pipe. Also the hanger aft of the cat isn't even connected to the exhaust so I want to get to that before I start getting stress cracks around the manifild.

Oh, Go to www.summitracing.com and type in the model and year of your truck. I believe it'll pull up headers, cat backs, and even a high flow cat.

I have a couple older cars and I've discovered the local salvage shops are awesome! We have a Subaru-only salvage shop where I found replacement light assemblies for WAY below anything I could find on the web.

You might ask them if they have any exhausts for your vehicle. (Many vehicles are totalled not long after purchase so many of the parts are near-new at salvage yards.)

Good Luck!
