ifs

ifs is a good suspension that can be made to handel alot. however it is not the best suited or most economical for all environments or situations. ifs is great for desert running because each the two wheels can cycle and articulate at different times and at high speeds while remaining stable. it is usually considered to weak to handel things like hardcore rock crawling for example, where solid axle can be much stronger. it really depends on what you want to do with the rig.

Ditto what 80toy said. It all depends on what you want to do with your truck.

if you are not going to be doing anything hardcore, and driving on the street most of the time, then it sounds like the best choice you could make is a lift that fits your budget. one that is of decent quality is also important. check out something like downey offroad. old man emu might make one, but i am not sure.

IFS is said to be able to handle 33in tires fairly well. After that you get to much stress on the cv axles. Articulation is not so well because of the sway bar. It makes both wheels move together instead of seperatly. You can make a quick disconnect for this that way you can undo one side to get better articulation. Wheel travel is also compromised by the bump stops. They are very close to the a arms. I think someone make a long travel kit. If you turn the torsion bars up it also takes away from wheel travel.

They do have 30" of travel but you've got to realize maximum wheel travel and effective wheel travel are two very different things.
A certain amount of suspension travel is used up by the weight of the vehicle.
Jack the front of your truck off the ground and look at how much wheel travel it has. Now, lower the jack and see how much of that travel is used by supporting the weight.
