Canada Convert to diesel or buy a diesel rig

The way the price of gasoline (petrol for Australians) is going I suggest that everyone convert their Toyotas to diesel as they are more:

fuel efficient
higher torque
waterproof
reliable
can idle all day long
less overheat episodes
can burn bio diesel or vegetable oil (without glycerin)

Well to help everyone dismiss the myth that Toyota diesel pickups & SUV's are rare in USA & Canada I have included below a list of very resourcefull links that contain places to buy diesel engines/parts and complete rigs.

Toyota diesel engines models: 2L's, 2L-T's, 3L's and 5L ‘s for sale in the greater Los Angeles area:

Yeah then you can go the bio diesel route and burn used french fry oil. I came across a site that this guy sells an add on system for like $800. Basically it was another tank that you could switch over after starting on diesel fuel and shut it off right before shut down. I was thinking this could even be enhanced more by hooking up something like a turbo timer. It would keep the car running after "turning off the car" automatically switching back to the normal fuel to avoid the lines getting gunked up.

switching to diesel

I've read that older toyota pickups were relatively easy to switch to diesel, then, one year, they changed mounts and stuff, making it a lot harder. I have a 2006 tacoma which I am trying to sell (I can't afford the payments anymore), and would like to buy an early 90s pickup so I can convert it.
My question is, what year models were the easy ones to convert and what parts have to be swapped, other than the engine and tranny?
