im sorta against turning the engine off immediately after you notice the engine gettin hot. when that happens, i would just pull over and let it idle (in park or neutral, but not drive), with heater on full blast. im havent been experiencing any overheating problems, but after some hard driving, i dont immediately turn off the car when im bout to leave it, i usually just sit for a couple minutes and let the engine idle, and wait for radiator fan to slow down to normal speed, then i leave. im no engine cooling expert, but what im doin can't hurt. i mean, they've got turbo timers to do this stuff for you (i kno the primary benefit is for the turbo oil cooling, but ive read somewhere that n/a cars can also benefit from these). so basically, im ghetto-turbo-timing (thats not an actual term btw).
