Anyone put a camper in thier Taco?

Hi all:
Ive got a 04, ext. Cab. 4x4 TRD Tacoma
I just bought a sweet Four Wheel camper to put in the back.
Ive been told I have to pay some attention to the rear suspension.
Ive heard the pros/cons of air bags.
Ive heard the pros/cons of trembrens.
Ive heard the pros/cons of additional leaf springs and HD shocks.
What system is BEST? I dont mind spending the dough...I just dont want to do it twice.
The total weight of the camper is 700lbs + another 500-600lbs for gear, etc = 1200-1300lbs total weight.
Id love to hear from someone with a similar set up and how they over came this issue.
