Rear end gear ratio?

I have a recently aquired 1992 2wd manual pickup. Is there any way to tell what rear-end gear ratio I have from markings on the diff/axle? I haven't been able to find any info on this. I guess I could lift the back end and count wheel vs shaft turns but thought I'd ask first.
