05 Tacoma valve train noise?

Please advise. Anyone have similar situation? What most likely cause? Normal?

Recently purchased new 2005 Tacoma TRD Offroad (4.0 liter). Currently at about 2K miles. Perfect except for what sounds to be valve train noise at ~ 2000 RPM and above. Specifically, a rhythmic "ch, ch, ch" sound with acceleration - sound is a function of engine speed above 2000 RPM. Other than this sound, the vehicle accelerates smoothly and powerfully.

Could be noisy lifters or the hydraulic actuation of the VVT-i system. The noise from lifters should settle a bit when the engine is fully broken in (7,500mi - 10,000mi). Also remember that the 1GR-FE 4.0L is chain driven, so some noise from that is also normal.
