guess i need a catalytic convertor

95 4x4 22re pickup with 195,000 miles...the exhaust note has changed, sounds a bit restricted, and the truck does not run well cold. read here where some catalytic convertors pack up with crud and it seems that's what this is.
best place to get one? thanks dudes.

If you can, just run straight pipes. If you need it for emissions, you have a couple of options. You can open up yours, bust everything out, then weld it back together. You can buy a brand new hi-flow cat. Straight pipes. You can buy a regular aftermarket convertor. Lots of things.

Take off the cat and go for a short ride. It will be load but it will be free-flowing. Also look through the cat with it off. Looking at the sun (or bright light) you should see through the honey-combed design.
Try to verify that your cat is bad before wasting your money.

I've seen hi-flow cats on ebay for as low as $20, but if you dont want to spend any money, do what my friend kyle did. go find an old broom, unbolt your cat, and shove that broom in there untill theres no resistance. When you put it back on and start your engine up thers going to be a ton of dust, carbon, and little metal shards flying out, but after about 2-3 hours of driving you should be good.
