Question air in cooling system

Hi, I have a couple of posts here on overheating, a friend of mine said when I changed the coolant, that I may have a little air in system, because it overheats a little from time to time. If so how do I know it, and how do I purge it. I have a96 tacoma 3.4 lx automatic 4x4 thanks Bob King bdking618@bellsouth.net

As you drive the air is purged from the system and gets pushed into the overflow bottle. There is no procedure that I know of for purging the air, you cant bleed it like you would do with brakes.
