should i get flowmaster original 40 series or delta flow 40 series. What are the pros and cons about each one. I have a 22-re and i plan on taking the cat off.

The delta flow series is just less aggressive (less interior noise) than the original series. I think either would do. The 40 is Flowmasters most aggressive muffler (actually I think they have the 30 series), so it would be loud no matter what...
a buddie of mine has a Delta 40 on his hardbody it sounds good but i think it would sound alot better with out the cat and tailpipe but still sounds great(without aircon)

22-re doesnt have enough back pressure to lose the cat. When I had my exhaust cut off at the cat I was backfiring BAD! Plus even running a strait pipe from the cat to the end of the bed I wasnt getting enough back pressure. I left the cat, and put a Flowtech RedHots on and its running GREAT for a much lower price than a flowmaster.
I also would not recommend not taking the cat off. I have an '88 22re and the last time my muffler fell off even without the muffler it was popping real bad. Also, if/when you get the flowmaster 40 don't be suprised by popping even with that.

Ya, with my stock exhaust and glass pack its more than enough. It was still popping with the glass pack, but after I opened up the intake its been running very nicely.

I'm confused on what your saying. Should i take the cat off or not. Because the flowmaster should provide enough back pressure. I am also running the pipes all the way back like a normal exhaust.

Think hes agreeing with me here. Just keep the exhaust stock, but with a flowmster, or cheaper alternative, a glasspack.

where would i put the glass pack? in place of the old muffler? Keep the same old pipe and everything? Will my 22-re sound beefy with a glass back with the cat still on and original pipes?

You replace your muffler with the glass pack. Most likely have to cut your old muffler off, and weld the glasspack on in its place. On my truck I had a strait pipe using exhaust pipes from auto zone, so I cut a section of the pipe out and weled the glass pack on. Be sure to get the 2" in/out if you get one.
As for sound, I've put many mustangs to shame. The glasspack in NO WAY makes your truck sound like a riced out 4cy civic or anything like that. Sounds exactly like a strait pipe, but not as loud, and when I first did my strait pipe I actually had a few people ask me if I had a chevy small block v8 in the truck.
alright ill do that. Thanks for telling me about how the glass packs sound good. cheap and inexpensive. Would you recommend taking off the cat with the glass packs or just leaving it on?

I would leave the cat on. A glasspack is basicly just a strait pipe with a glass barrel and fins that attemt to absorb sound. If you open your intake and put the glasspack on with the rest of the exuast stock, you'll have just about the perfect ammount of air flow. Thats how I've got mine setup, and its very quick.
I'm an econemy modder. Considering I dont have any money, I dont like to spend much. The glasspack was great for me, and If you want to open up your air intake you can probably find my instructions on how to do better than a cold air for free on page 2-3
