I want to swap seats! Please help!

I have located some 4 runner bucket seats from a '98 and I was wondering how much if any mods will be required to make these seats fit my '94 pickup?

You might have to use the sliders from your '94 and weld them to the brackets on the '98s and the mounting holes on the cab floor may not line up and you will probably need to drill new holes on the floor. That's all I can think of at the moment.

One thing to look out for is adequate room at the rear. If you have a standard cab, is there adequate space to move the seat all the way back and still tilt back enough for comfort? For tall folks that can be a problem.

I am still looking for bucket seats for either truck or 4 runner in the '89 to 95 years. if I locate some I will get those, but was just wondering if the "98 would work with out to many mods.

Reb, I am only 5'11" tall so I will have to look into what you are saying to see if it will be a problem or not.

Thanks for the replies.

Most times the best you can do with 4Runner seats is to get 3 out of 4 bolt holes to line up (and that's within the same relative generation).

I'm not sure of the 4Runner 'generation boundaries', but I'm guessing a 98 - to - 94 swap would be doing well to get 3 out of 4 lined up 'as is'.

You'll have a much easier time going with Toyota truck / 4Runner seats from the same generation ('89 - '95). That's not necessarily a bad thing - in a thread over at YotaTech last winter there was a consensus that the late 80's / early 90's SR5 buckets were probably the most comfortable OEM seats Toyota ever put into a truck....
