USA Some more power please......

I got a 02 Tacoma 4x4 2.7L with 31x10.5 and a little spacer lift, it has borla exhuast on it... It just needs some more power some times... like when I got a dirtbike in the back or what not, what can I do to get some more power, i was thinking a K&N Intake, anything else I can do???

buy a V6.

Seriously, I don't know if I/E/H is really going to make enough power to substantially feel the difference. I believe that the truck weighs a little too much for the 150hp engine. Even with mods, 160-165 hp isn't going to be all that. TRD may make a supercharger for your application (not certain). It's expensive, but will make some substantial power.

Now the 3.4 V6, 5 speed has alot of power in a standard 2wd xtracab...HOWEVER, if you have 31's, 4X4 and auto, the V6 starts to feel like a slug.

Forget the K&N, its crap. Headers and a less restrictive exhauast would help.

Deck Plate mod or removing the elbow from the air box will give you around 5-7 hp more and it's just enough to make a difference for what your talking about. Mike

over bore it to 2.9 or 3.0 make a mini supra engine then turbo or you could drive a really slow car for a year or so till u get used to it then drive your truck
