Hey all i got a slight problem with my 92 4x4 its a 22R-E with the chain transfercase. Here is my prob: after locking the hubs depressing the clutch the 4x4 shifter is either; hard to engauge and hard to disengauge(hard like apply alot of force) or easy to engauge hard to disengauge idk what the hell is wrong with it 4wd works fine got me out of tons of situations but the shifter idk. Feel free to say anything.

You shouldn't have to disengage the clutch to go from 2wd high to 4wd high, even while on the move. If you are having problems engaging it on the move, I would suspect significantly different tire pressures between front and rear (assuming all four tires are the same size). Difficulty in disengaging the front axle can be the result of running the truck in 4wd on a hard surface. The easy fix for that situation is to back up a bit, then try again to disengage it. The clutch would have no effect on the problem.
I have heard of at least one case where someone had changed one of the differentials to a different ratio. That would cause the problems you describe, and more. I assume yours is stock.
i know that i have disengaged it after backing up a few times so that is a solution. none of the things u said r true of me truck tho. tires r fine, never use it on hard surfaces, and my differentials r stock.

I had an '85 4Runner with a similar problem. It would go into 4x4 very easily but it was hard to make it disengage.
I really never solved the problem, I would just give it a good hard pull on the t-case lever and it would usually pop right out.

Similar situation with my Land Cruiser. It's in the gearing and synchromesh. If it is hard to shift (either into or out of), move the transmission shifter to neutral, then let up on the clutch to spin the gears in the transfercase, then depress the clutch and shift again. This is the same principle for unsynchronized reverse, like my H41 transmission. It's because the synchro is worn, so when the gears are spinning it will be easier to shift into and out of 4x4. Just make sure to not spin them too fast!

As stated in the owner's manual drive backwards for at least 10 feet to disengage the 4wd.Another technique that I use is accelerate forward then quickly release the gas pedal then activate the transfer case lever.
"Why can't I use 4x4 mode all the time or on the roads?
There's drive to both axles and the front and rear axles have different turning circles. On hard/dry surfaces like tarmac there's no give on the road surface so you'll end up with windup on the transmission which can destroy it.
Permanent 4WD vehicles like Range Rovers have a differential in the transfer case to allow it to slip as you turn in circles. The Surf is not intended as a permanent 4WD vehicle."
