Canada Check Engine light

I have a 2001 tacoma TRD doublecab with 90000 kms. The check engine light came on this weekend and will not go off. I checked the gas cap and all oil levels everthing is OK. Is there anything else that I could check? I don't want to take to a dealer for something simple.

I'm not sure if you have an AutoZone up in Canada or if you can head down south to find one, but they can pull the codes for you. Once you find out what the code(s) is/are come back here and we can help you out.

You can buy a cheapie code reader from an auto parts store and read the code that way. The Stealer will charge you an arm and a leg for the reading!
