2005 tacoma trd vs sr5 suspension

I use to have a 1999 tacoma trd and the suspension was really stiff, making the ride really bouncy.. I was told that the 1999 sr5 models are not as bouncy. .. does anyone know if this new model has the same problem. the question is which model has a smoother ride... the sr5 or trd

It's the shocks. I assume you still have the stock Bilstein on them now? Change over to coilovers like SAWs, Donahoe's etc for the front and maybe get a new leaf pack for the rear like Deaver or Alcan. Also if you do end up getting new leafs, I think you're gonna need extended shocks for the rear (not sure about that though) and if you do, I recommend getting the Bilstein 5100's. The whole setup should make your wallet lighter by about $1800, give or take a few hundy.

Or just put a set of normal shocks on it. The Bilsteins are REALLY stiff shocks. If you go to any Auto Zone, Napa or where ever and get a set of cheapie, normal shocks you will get a smoother ride.
The TRDs are not designed for a smooth ride on pavement.
