need help w/fuel filter change

All the postings say how easy it was to change the fuel filter. Located mine under the transmission crossmember. Does the crossmember need to be removed first?
93 4runner 4x4 3.0 V6. thanks for any help.

No it does not, and yes it is a pain in the butt to replace, especially if it has never been done.

Damn what an odd place, mine was under the manifold, and the bolts were a bitch to remove.

HI,don't know if this will help,I bought a 1982 4x4 toyota truck an my repair book for that year said it was just before the gas tank. I had the tank part way out a saw that it wasn't there! Looked under the hood again an there it was! Down on top of the wheel well by the battery! It took only five minutes to replace! Then I had to put the gas tankback together!! All that work for a five minute job!
