Fella at NAPA told me Friday that my truck is an SR5. I thought that specific labeling didnt com in til 95, it is an 89 pickup 22re 5 speed 4x4 xcab, I thought it was a dlx maybe, but he said that any toyota that is a 5 speed is known as an sr5.

any truth to this?
Thanks,
pete

Yes and no. http://www.sr5.net/sr5_sr5.htm
My '85 4Runner was an SR5 as was my '91 4Runner V6 (and the '91 had an automatic tranny). The SR5 was, as the link states a trim package that got you nicer stuff than the standard DX model.
