Trucks for the most part are better than cars. They last longer because they are built to take punishment, they can go places a car can't, and they have better styling. Does anyone else here disagree or feel the same way?

Hmm. have you seen a toyota camry on fire lately? how about a ford... Please quit being a darn fanboy, get your head out of the clouds and realize there are reasons why they sell trucks AND cars and other various types of vehicles.. and not just trucks...

If trucks didn't have bad gas mileage, car sales would be ultra low. Just wait until hybrid technology comes to the Tundra. The Tundra will replace the Camry and every Texan or red neck will rejoice.

i agree, cars are good for good gas mileage, the taco, toy p/u, both good gas mileage and trucks! Cars are good for speed, Silverado SS, dodge SRT10, FOrd lightning ?!?!?! My F150 gets best of both worlds. Cars can look good though, and be fun
YES and NO. I wouldn't take my 2005 Infiniti G35 coupe to Home Depot for a load of dirt....Nor, would I try and carve corners at high speeds with my Tacoma Xtra-cab V6. DO what I do and have the best of both worlds...have cars & trucks.
More on that topic.... Obviously this is an opinion driven topic. Not many, if any, stock trucks could even come close to spirited driving on a windy mountain road as my G35 Coupe. Perhaps the SRT10 would accelerate as quick (doubtfully much quicker) but when a sharp curve comes into the picture, the SRT10 would be off into the guardrail. Same true with the Lightning and SS Chevy. Don't get me wrong....they are high performance trucks! But most trucks are not built for handling.......
On fuel mileage, few pickup trucks will get 30 mpg (only a few 4 bangers may achieve this). Most full size trucks get horrible fuel economy - like 12-18 mpg, typically, a few a little higher and some even lower. Most pickup trucks handle like wet sponges, boats, and sloppy fat girls. On the other hand, most cars will not haul furniture, go offroad, or tow a boat.
See the picture? PICK YOUR POISON!!!!!!

Reason: spelling error...opps.
you really do need both. i love trucks and i always will, but there r things that trucks just cant do. trucks can go basically anywhere, they last forever, and they take abuse. but you will never find a truck that can fly down a winding road at 90 without takin a trip in the woods. but to me, if i need speed, give me a '05 Yamaha R1. that will blow your doors off 95G ATL. nothin like flyin down a winding road at 165 trucks r the best but there is more to life than just trucks.
oh, i have seen a few fords on fire in the last little while......... sorry guys but, i hate ford.

I love my 98 taco...versitle...4wd, and an xcab to carry more than 1 friend. Trucks are essential....everytime you want one....you don't have one. I REALLY love my camry, sleek, fast, low. When I want to drive 3 hours to a TN meet, I drive my camry as opposed to my taco. MY camry couldn't go offroad or haul dirt if it's life depended on it...and that is my reason for my truck as well....life gets better with more toyotas in the stable
TRUCK PROS
Off-road capability
It can haul your furniture away from the store (No more waiting for delivery. pick up your shit when you want it.)
You can tow stuff
Looks better (in my opinion)
TRUCK CONS
Bad gas mileage
Medicore handling
Roll over sometimes

some cars can tow, just not as much as a truck. Take some old school family boats with big blocks. They can tow with best of tham as long as there isn't to much toung weight. Cars can also haul stuff. I have put more stuff into hatch backs than one would normally want to. Cars can also go off road. What about the AWD Camry??? Subaru???
They sell $500 cars for a reason, to go to home depot and pick up all you need including the mulch and dirt..
Yes I will never purposly take my car off road but all are capable to an extent.
And I sold my 83 F250 as the gas was killing me and began to go through truck withdrawls, hence the reason I found my Toyota P/U with at least twice the gas milages of my 10mpg F250.
another thing I found out. If you have a truck and loos it. It's worse than not having one to start with. If you post this toppic in one of the car sections you will get a lot of differant opinions and *yes I'm gonna say it* some will say trucks flat out stink..

American trucks don't suck. I think the Ram, Durango, Tahoe, Yukon, Silverado, Sierra, Escalade, Envoy, Trailblazer, etc all kick ass. I don't know if I can say anything good about Ford because everything they build blow up .

The AWD Camry is meant for tracktion. There is a difference between AWD and 4x4. AWD is being able to have power delivered to all wheels, but lacks a 2 speed transfer case. AWD is meant for traction on road. Cars don't have enough ground clearance for off-road use. 4x4 is for off-road use.
