Talking Pics of my new truck/QUESTIONS!

Here she is boys, the 1993 DLX Single cab Short bed. NO RUST even under the doors, glossy paint, AC, and a tonneau cover. All this on 31"x10.5" tires.

Question 1: I got the truck, it smelled like rat urine. I replaced the carpet and I am going to get new apholstry. When I turn on the air, the smell becomes so putrid I would have you belive it came from the bowels of the devil, anyways, I know it is in the duct work and I want to get it out. Is there a specific spot I should look for the smell, like a build up area?

Question 2: Does anyone know of a decent place that will re-apholster my seat in MASSACHUSETTS? I want cloth maybe leather it doesn't matter, I just want a low price.

Thanks

-Mike

uhh i work in new car prep so we get alot of cars with stinky aircon i still havnet figured out a way to get rid of it but try this: turn the aircon to outside draw(ac on of course) then spray fabrece or what air freshener into the vents under the wipers im not too sure which one it is try both spray alot or untill it smells like freshener in your truck then spray some in your cab then turn to inside draw or you could find the duct for recirculation and spray stuff in there hope that helps oh yeah i like the color of your truck i wanna paint mine that color oh yeah your a lucky guy for finding a single cab hilux

you want to use lysol of some other disinfectant that will kill the mold and mildew that is in the evap box ,fabreeze is just going to cover it up for a bit.

There used to be a kit at the GM stealership I used to work at. Used to either take the blower resister out or drill a hole in the evap box and spray a mold killer all over the evaporator.

Tho if you apholstery stinks too a 5gallon bucket of fabreez might be the only thing you can do

Ok, I am going to get the fabric changed anyways. It has stains on it that are pretty rotton. I will go get some pics of the seat.

I went to turn on the a/c with outside air coming in, then it started making a noise on the passenger side of the dashboard. It sounded like a vibrating, straining motor; but very loud. What do I do know? I think I am just going to take the ducts apart and clean them.

Here is the seat: http://www.fortresshalo.com/wlan/gallery/album22?page=3

i have the exact same problem in my 1987 pickup. we cleaned out as much of the nest from whatever was living in the ducts and the noise went away. the smell is still there though. I will probably try the lysol thing through the outside vents because spraying it in from the inside does nothing.
