leaf springs for 86 sr5

i need to replace the drivers side leaf spring 4ply, local junk yard and toyota dealers said only 86 to 88 will fit, does anyone know if any other years will fit, and they also say the left and right sides are different, i located one locally from another 86 but he said his toy has leaf springs in the front also, i have independ front suspension is there a difference in the rear leaf spring between the two models
