3.4L post recall head gasket problem
Hi folks
I have a 3.4L post recall gasket problem. Toyota did the recall replacement of the head gasket when I was expereincing no problems at 104,000 miles. At about 150,000 miles I began to notice my coolant resevoir going down & then just last March, while on an extended trip, I had to hobble in on 5 cyl to Bell Road Toyota and be told I needed to replace the head gaskets AGAIN. The cost? $1,800 Apparently, coolant had been leaking on the # 3 sparkplug & that explains the escessive early morning vapor I often saw.
Anyone happen to have a good name at Toyota I can write to? In my mind, it is not fair to fix a customer's vehicle when it isnt broken, and then do nothing after it is broken. How am I to know that that original gasket could have lasted 500K miles? I'm a little pissed about it.
Looking forward to hearing some good advice, and maybe even a name of a big wig I can write to. I am already trying to get that from a Toyota Tech friend who now lives far from here, but no news yet.
Thanks in advance all!
cheers
Walt
