What does "v6 out of a car the same as a 4 runner v6 1990" mean? I merely wanted a clarification to your question so that I and others may help you out. I assume you meant "will a v6 engine from a 1990 passenger car fit in a same year 4Runner?" Is that your question? If it is then it probably will, but you may need to mate it to the same transmission as well as other components.

Be clear and precise in your questions so that others may help you more efficiently. Grammar and the correct use of punctuation would help tremendously as well. BTW, my user name is humanoid and not Himroid, just so you know.

In Canada & USA the Toyota model 3VZ-E (3 liter V6) engine was an option on the 1988-95 Toyota 4-Runner,pickup & T100.This SOHC (single overhead cam) version of Toyota’s V6 put out 145 hp @ 4800 rpm and 180 ft. lbs of torque @ 3400 rpm. However, for the truck and 4-Runner applications,two-valve heads with a single camshaft per head were employed.

On the other hand the 3VZ-FE was used in the "FWD:front wheel drive" 1992-93 Camry and the 1992-93 Lexus ES300 which had DOHC (dual overhead cams) therefore the position of the drive train forces the engine to be physically positioned sideways as opposed to most of Toyota's RWD:rear wheel drive vehicles so basically even though the engine model names sound almost identical the engines are definetely not & cannot be interchanged. For further reading material:

I would think you'd run into some fitment problems considering the car is front-drive and the 4Runner is rear-drive.
