22R oil leak

I recently put a new timing chain on my 87 22r. After we put the engine back together, oil leaked from somewhere around the head to chain cover seal. So i took it all off, and RTVed that problem area. Now there seems to be a small oil weep coming from the same area, but to make sure it wasnt anything else, i got a new valve cover gasket and grommets to check that spot. Still leaks. And the engine idles higher than it should, and i have checked all of my vacuum hoses, could it be extra air from the oil leak spot causing it to run lean? If anyone has had this problem, please help.
Thanks

Sounds like maybe the chain wore a hole before you changed it.This could cause your idle problem with the vacuum loss.Take your valve cover off and check where the chain runs alonng the driver's side of the cover.

When I took the cover off, there were no holes and no leak beforehand. Thanks for the tip, but, I don't think that's the case. I think I maybe just need to install a new head gasket, but, thats always fun...
