hello peeps, im new to piston engine totally, im a rotary guy, hence the name rotarex, i got a question to ask i just bought a Yota pickup 95 in good condition and i havent really drove it yet, but from the specs i read on line i know i wont be pleased with the power, its 150hp i want to know if its worth to modify this engine to get around 200+ hp with out burning much more gas, or is a engine swap avaliable for me? its a 3.0V6 and i see the tacomas got a 3.4V6 with 190hp so any help thanks.
If you do go ahead with the swap then swap it with the 3.4 and get a supercharger and get the URD kit as well from www.urdusa.com and that should put you past 200 HP.
atcually i just looked up on cars.com and i checked out the specks of the cars and the 2006 camary has a 3.0 V6 210hp, 2006 Lexus GS300 3.0 V6 245hp, 2003 Lexus es and rx 300 210-220hp so i think a swap ill be cheaper because a forein used engine here is around $1500 installed
ok well i found out that the engine swap wasent gonna happen with ease no more so i found some bolt ons , intake, complete exhaust, electric fan, waterpump and ignition anyone knows of anymore??...
P.S do anyone knows of another mass flow sensor that can be interchanged with stock? like a tube version form another vehicle
I am not positive but I do not think you will get the same gas milage depending on the total of all the mods you are planning. It may be close tho.
I'm sure you already know the saying but "You gotta pay if you wanna play"
And one thing I found out about swaping modern day motors is not only tryig to get it to fit but also all the computer work that is involved.
Good luck.

if i had a tacoma i would get that flamethrower kit for the ehxaust. it shoots up to 20' flames or you can get one that blows out a huge cloud of thick black smoke. wont add hp but its god damn cool

For starters, what are you going to use the truck for? If you wanted speed and power you bought the wrong the vehicle, sorry to say. These engines will run forever but they are simply dogs when it comes to power. You dont need to swap the motor, or dump your money into a bunch of hairbrained add-ons. The $ per HP gain just doesnt make sense unless you plan on building this truck for a specific purpose. For an all around daily driver, put your money into the differential. It's the cheapest "go fast" gain you can buy.
New gears is what he means new ring and pinion gears. If your running bigger tires and your truck feels like a dog get new gears like i have 31s on my truck so ima get 4.56s or 4.88 for 33's. Swaps gonna be a headache for you, but its your money and time do as you wish. hahahahah flame thrower 10mpg increase or your money back! batterys not included

rotarex, go to www.pullapart.com you can usually find a good engine pretty cheap there. It's used, but chances are it'll be a good one. If not, you're only wasting a couple hundred. Just check to see if they have the car you want in a location closest to you.
