Rev and Redline

I installed a tach on my truck today (made a nice 4-pin plug out of an old power supply and a dead P4 motherboard), but I dont know what to set the redline to. Its a 1988 pickup with 22re. I was watching the tach while driving and basicly got this with overdrive on:

Idle: 750rpm
Accelerating (to 60mph/3rd): 2500rpm
Cruising (at 60mph/4th): 2000rpm
Cruising (at 45mph/4th): 1750rpm
Decelerating: 1000rpm
Petal to the floor (1st): 5000rpm

All that sound right?

My brother had an '85 4-Runner with the same engine. 5500 rpm is what I remember as the redline.

His 4-Runner was a 5-speed, manual, so I can't compare the RPMs with your auto.

Ya, I have a gauge cluster (speedometer doesnt work) that I used for referance, and it said 5800rpm, but I wasnt sure if that was right.

redline is about 5700/5800 but 5500 is safer
