Talking Temp gauge not working/new horn

Alrite i was really bored today so i was moping around the garage and found my grandpa's ooohga horn from his vending business. It was used as a alarm belive it or not so if some punk tried to jack cigrettes or candy the horn would go off. Anyway after installing it and playing around i noticed my Temp Gauge doesnt work at all. It stays at cold even when i know its operatin temp plus my truck always idles at 1000/900 rpm. Any ideas? i tend to belive that the temp sender is broke. As for the high idle i think the ecu thinks the engine is cold all the time idk why though.. Heres a pic of the horn oooooooga remember the horn is from the 40s/50s and it still works!!!

That horn is a neat addition to the truck. It might be older than you think--They were used in the 20's or 30's.

I think you are on the right track. It sounds like the temp sensor is disconnected or broke. I'm betting you knocked the wire loose.

Unless you can program your engine control computer to read your new temperature gauge your engine will always idle high and probably run rich. It needs the temperature information to lean out the mixture when the engine warms up. That will mean poor gas mileage and probably other problems.
