Lately, my truck has been running really rough, and rich. I can smell it. The carb has been rebuilt, and I tried using the manual for my truck to adjust the fuel and idle to where it's supposed to be, it was fine for a few hours, then went back to crap. Is it maybe my MAP sensor causing problems with the truck? I've heard that it can cause problems like this, since I don't think my carb is to blame, and there are no vacuum leaks.

Is your float level correct? They will deteriorate and allow the fuel level in the bowl to be too high, causing the symptoms you describe.

Where is the bowl?

The fuel line goes into the bowl of the carburetor. On the side of the bowl (I think it is on the passenger side--it has been several years since I had my '85) is a sight glass. The fuel level should be between the lines on the glass. There is an adjustment screw on the top of the bowl. Your manual should have the procedure.
