USA 1998 v6 timeing belt change on a tocoma

I NEED TO KNOW HOW TO CHANGE A TIMEING BELT ON MY DADS 1998 V-6 4X4 TACOMA.I AM A CHEIF ENGINEER SO THE BASICS AND ANY TRICKS SURE WOULD HELP,AS I WILL BE DRIEVING TO INDIANA TO DO THIS IN A WEEK.THIS WILL BE DONE IN HIS BACK YARD SO PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT ALL TOOLS I WILL NEED TO TAKE WITH ME,AND WHAT PARTS ARE INVOLVED IN A TIMING BELT CHANGE.please e-mail me here maryevitt@bellsouth.net ,thank you all chester evitt

I would advise picking up a manual of some type. Replacing the timming belt on these v6's usually requires removing the radiator and fan. You should also replace the water pump while you are in there(water pump removal when it fails requires removing the timming belt). It will save you time and money down the road. It is a time consuming job for the backyard mechanic, so be warned. It is not difficult. Just time consuming. Make sure all timming marks are set and I think(not 100% sure) you will need a special tool for releasing the tension on the timming belt tensioner.
