Interior Cleaning Tip

I recently bought a 93 pickup and have been cleaning it up. The interior was kinda smelly and dirty...coffee stains, french fries under the seat, ect. Someone told me to take the carpet out and pressure wash it. I thought that was strange but decided to go for it, beats buying a new one. I sprayed some of that orange cleaner on first and let it soak in then sprayed away. I was amazed at how well it came out. Like new! It worked so well I took the pressure washer to the seat ...not too close though...and it came out looking new as well. No odors either. Just thought I'd share that.

forgive me if this is stupid....

but i just bought a '94 p/u and am having a sort of similar issue.... not having access to a lot of tools and stuff, i am curious if you did this with the seat still in the truck? if not, any ideas on how to clean it with the seat in there? i figure after soaking it, i could leave the truck in the sun with the windows down for a day or two, then go with damprid or something. is this just nuts/asking for mildew?

No, I took the carpet and seat out. Leaving it in would make more of a mess...if not ruin the thing.

I took it all out in the morning, washed it down, then left it all in the sun to dry. I was able to put it all back in that evening. Helps that it is summer.

Taking the seat out is easy, just 4 bolts. Carpet isn't too tough, just need to remove the threshold trim , the plastic side pieces that go on top of those, the driver's side foot rest, then start pulling it up. Screw drivers and a 12 or 14 wrench for the seat is all you need.
