Evap canister

Well, I have my new 96 Tacoma Thunder V6 4X4 and have been tinkering away at it for the last couple of days. The whole time that I was working on it, the canister was buzzing away(like a trapped bee). This canister is different than the ones that I have seen, and I have never heard this sound before. Is this normal? It appears to be coming from the front vacuum line.

Apparently, there are several TSBs out on this subject for most of the toyo trucks. If anyone has access to these, perhaps you could check it out for me.Thanks.

I found this info. Has anyone heard of this before? If your 1995-96 Toyota Tacoma or '96 4Runner buzzes after engine shutoff, a dealer will install an air chamber on the EVAP canister under warranty. TSB No. EG002-97

Thumbs down

Well I asked the stealership about the TSB and was told that there is none. I guess only the US side decided to fix this problem. The tech told me that the noise is normal.

Yes this noise is normal assuming it only occurs every few seconds.

To me, normal means that it happens in all cars. You press the button and the horn blows. This is normal. If the noise was normal, it would have been present on all my cars and I wouldn't be asking about it. When it happens to a select vehicle in a select year, then I don't consider it normal. It may be normal to this specific vehicle, but that is because someone messed up and made it this way.
