Running Board Problem

I have a question about running boards. I just bought a pair of used rbs from a `96 4 runner to replace my '99's rusted rbs. I talked to the dealer before I had them shipped from the private party I was looking to buy them from. The dealer told me that the 96 rbs would fit my 99 truck. Has anyone had any experience with these? Someone did tell me that the bolt holes on the rear end of the truck do not match up...however the dealer told me it should work...not sure who to believe.

Any Toyota mechs/repair folks on here who would know the answer to this question or anyone who has some experience or knowledge on the subject? Thank you.
