93 Toyota Pickup MAF Question?

I thought I knew where it was but I think it is combined with the Butterfly valve. Is this correct? Does anyone have any pics of it and how do I clean it?

The Only Butterfly valve I know is in the Throtle body which is with the Intake manafold. It's easy to clean just take off you Air tube off at the Intake manafold with a 10mm socket or phillp screw Driver unmake the air Filter Box along with Disconecting the MAF plug and your basicly halfway done. the Mass Air Flow (MAF) Sits right on top of the Air Filter Box. Whenever you are done Cleaning make sure you put the plug in for the MAF or the truck will not run.

th at is a complex MAF.. The three prongs and that tension bar. Then having to remove the silicon sealed cover. More complex than what I thought it would be. Does anyone have a schematic or write up on how to clean it?

i had messed with my sensor a while back and didnt fully understand what i was doing and caused many problems. i was puting an intake on and just honestly knew nothing and cut open the seal and messed with it....bad idea. but anyway, why do you want to clean it? it wouldnt do much for it and it will be hard to reassemble. i had to get one from a yard and make sure the nuumbers matched and it was a big deal. i talked to toyota and they said that you should never break that silicone seal cause if any water gets in it can be a problem. better off just taking it off and cleaning it from the little door on the side and put it back on instead of taking it apart to clean it.
