Old TRD models: LSD or Locker?

What kind of differential comes with older model TRD Tacomas? Was there a Sport and Off-Road model prior to 2005? From what I understood, they are all Off-Road with locking diffs, right?

The Sport / Offroad was a terrible new idea for 2005.

All the older TRD models both 4x4 and the PreRunner has locking rear.

Limited Slip sucks. That's why when my 2004 got stolen, I had no choice but to buy the Offroad TRD in the 2005 Model year. To make sure I stayed with the lockers.

Edit: Side by side comparison I would have to rate the '05 as a more comfortable truck with better towing. But if you want an offroad firecracker, I would go with an 01 - 04 model for true 4wheeling capabilities.

But that's just my opinion based on my experiences with my '01, my '04, and my '05.

You wanna talk about a non offroading truck. I got stuck on a parking lot barrier at the swimming hole. After about 2 mins. of trying to negotiate it off the barrier all the while slowly going down a hill in front of me. I finally got her off. Minus one mud flap and a metric shit ton of clutch smoke. But its home now, the mud flap is back on and I think I might have taken about 10k off the clutch? Oh well...
