Question Extended Cab Alignment

I purchased a 94 4cyl extended cab pickup. Some body work has been done on the front end and the cab was not re-positioned well on the frame. I measured the frame and it is straight; the cab is shifted ~1/2" to the driver side (driver side wheel tucked further inside fender). As a novice, I looked at the problem and decided it should be as simple as loosening the body mounts on the cab and sliding the body over ~1/4" to center it on the frame. Is it that simple? Is there enough "play" in the body mounts to allow for this much movement? Are there any "gotch-ya's" I should be aware of?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

I have a similar problem with the bed of my 93 extended cab. The frame is straight but the rear of the bed is shifted slightly to the left. I attempted to straighten it by loosening the bolts and giving it a good shove. When this didn't work I removed the bolts completely (not very difficult btw) and then was able to move it. Unfortunately lining the whole thing up again was not easy, it may be that the bed has been bent out of shape, or there just wasn't enough give where the bolts attach. In the end, once I had the mounting points lined up and the bolts fastened down, it was still crooked.

If I were you. I'd get someone else to lend a hand and a pair of eyes. Something that heavy is hard to move by yourself. and that way they can tell you how it looks from one side while you look at it from the opposite. That's what I'm going to try once I get a chance and someone else is available.
