emergency question, need answer now

1980 toyota 4x4 pickup, 20r, 111,xxx miles.

the seventh exhaust stud fell out (the one closest to the firewall). i went to replace it and found that the threads inside the block are stripped about a half inch down. the hole for the stud is at least an inch deep. if i just use a bolt will that work. (poor college kid, needs to be smoged next week) i can't find a longer stud this quick. need hte car to run today.

thank you

You're probably better off fixing it the right way and putting some new threads in there.
