how much were the headers and muffler and where did you get them? Also, is that the stock piping size or did you go larger?

Umm, why is that muffler painted? You're gonna have to scrape away paint to get a better weld on that.

that's not paint. LCE coats 'em with a ceramic. my header and pipe set from them is a couple years old and still holding the coating, no rust at all.

and the ceramic doesn't get in the way of the weld? From what I learned in welding class, you want a straight metal to metal weld for the strongest hold.

i think flowmaster paints them all. Probably for protection. I saw a flowmaster commercial today and the one they showed was that same black. Id think that when you weld it, that paint (or whatever it is) will melt right off. If it caused a bad weld, flowmaster would probably not do that to its mufflers. Also, your headers do look stainless, im pretty sure they're not ceramic. (looks like stainless in the pic)

Talking Update!!

Well after a long wait i finally got my stuff installed. Complete exhaust system includes: headers, straight pipe to muffler in stock location and tail pipe. The truck sounds amazing well worth the time and money. I just love my truck now. If u didnt notice i got new shocks and add-a-leafs in the back. Why add-a-leafs? well my rear sagged alot and the shock wouldnt fully extend so they offered me add a leafs for a good price so i took it. Now all i have to do is even out the truck with a torsion tweak. That is still up in the air alot of people say my truck's stance is good. Here are some pics and a sound/video clip. enjoy! Heres the sound clip
