head gasket recall question

Does Toyota still fix head gasket problems for free. I am asking because I was at an auction yesterday and there was a 1990 4x4 4runner 3.0 with a blown head gasket(water in the oil at least). I thought about buying it and having Toyota do the work for free. The truck sold for $1000.

maybe i got mins recalled yesterday when i was at the dealer, but my gasket is fine or so i think but i guessim gonna do it for free

I answered this thread a couple lines down.

Yes take them on the offer and while they are at it have them replace both idlers and timing belt (at your cost for parts only) as those idlers have been known to seize up on the 3VZE engine.
