no codes

My 1991 4runner 3.0 auto trans still runs very bad when it warms up. The guy i bought it from was at his wits end when he sold it to me. He had it tuned up several times, compression checked, TPS changed, air flow meter changed, and so on. Every time he did something to the truck it would run ok for about a month, and then starts to crap out again. It usually idles ok and when its warm and being driven, it acts like its going to die. Then you floor the gas and it takes off. So basically there's nothing between 1/4 throttle and full throttle. TPS has been changed more than once according to old owner. The problem is that when my mechanic pulled the codes, there were none (Yes, the check engine light works). Now what? It seems like it might have a bad connection and when it gets moved (like during a tune-up), its ok for a while, OR, it's not getting gas for some reason. Please help.

efi harness

In my attempts to solve this problem, I found that a few hold down clips on the fuel injector connectors are broken. The connectors still seem somewhat secure but who knows. Can I replace the connectors, or do I need to replace the harness. A junk yard quoted me $150 for the EFI harness, is this a fair price?
