Lifting 87 2wd Yota

I have a 1987 Toyota 2wd pickup. I need more ground clearance and don't want to buy a newer Toyota(to expensive). I am probably putting 215/75/15 BFG All Terrain TA K/O's on it. Is there any cheap way I can get more clearance?

body lift. Or blocks for the rear, then some coil spacers up front. or a cheap kit off of truckperformance.com

Doesn't your truck have adjustable front torsion bars?

How can i find out if its adjustable? My dad has had mopars that were, but he wasn't sure where to check on my truck.

If you don't have coil springs then you have adjustable torsion bars very similar to the MoPar. The adjusting bolt is either inside the lower control arm or right next to it. There may be a locking nut to loosen before adjusting. Don't forget to get an alignment after.

the torsion bar thing works ok for a little extra height, but cranking it way up isn't good for it. a small body lift would be ok, although body lifts are not the ideal way to lift a truck. lift blocks are also a cheap alternative for the rear. if you want to do it right, then you should just get a suspension lift. but if you aren't going to be doing much hard off-roading, lift blocks or body lifts will do for a cheap alternative.

edit: a body lift by itself will not give you ground clearance. the purpose of a body lift is to fit bigger tires to get more ground clearance.
