Transmission swap

Okay, this will sound crazy. I'd like to have a doublecab Tacoma to handle my growing kids, but I can't live with an automatic in the 01-04's. I can't afford a new 05 and am not excited about the looks or size either. So the only other option is get a used 01-04 doublecab and swap the auto for a manual transmission, clutch, etc. I know this has been done at least once by others. Anyone know a good shop that knows Toyotas in northern New England that would help take on this task?

I faced the same problem a couple of years ago and ended up going with another manufacturer. I figure the quality difference (if any) was balanced by not having the cost of modifying the Toyota.
