dashboard squeak

there is a chirping noise coming from the back of my dashboard when i hit bumps in the road. (and PA has LOTS of them). Ive tried tightening the 2 bolts directly behind the guage face, thinking it was them. I took them out, replaced them with new lock washers, but the same problem still persists. I tightened every bolt i saw while i had the guage cluster out. But nothing helped. Are there any other bolts that holds the whole dash on that may have come loose and lets the board move slightly on bumps causing this chirping sound? I know its kinda hard to identify, but im just throwing this out there just in case. Its like theres a bird chirping in the back of the dash, drivers side every time i hit a bump. It annoys the heck out of me. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Adam--

Apparently, the '04 Tacoma I just bought had the same problem with squeaking before I got it. In looking thru the service record papers I have inherited, I noticed that the original owner took it back to the dealership to be addressed and I'll quote what it says: Customer states dash is squeaking around instrument cluster -- found cluster cover loose -- tightened and installed noise kit/gasket around instrument cluster. Hope this helps!

Rock on,

Mine used to make a noise like that until I got my winshield replaced. I guess that piece of trim on the drivers side along that a pillar post was the culprit. For a long tim a just had a rag stuffed tightly btween the dash and that trim and i didn't rattle. Check that trim piece and see. just a thought.
