Oxygen sesnor and Smog Q

I have a 1980 SR5, and want to take the CAT off the exhaust (In Oregon we don't have to smaog if it is 82 and under . There is an O2 sensor after the CAT and if removed will run like crap and get horrible milage. what are some options. It has stock headers (and If I remember correclt there is an O2 sensor there to), but soon I will get some aftermarket ones.

what do I need to do to the engine to pull the Smog pump/crap off of the truck (I don't have the truck yet. I pick it up tommorow ). Is there any engine modifications I will have to do, or vacume lines I will have to re-route/plug)

thanks,
Dan

If I'm correct In some repair manuals they have pictorial drawings of the smog sytems with or without. I bought the Chiltons repair manual for my 89 toy p/u and it showed the exhaust systems with and without the smog.

I have a manual that shows the smog/emmision system, I was just looking for someone who has taken it out of theirs to give me a little help. If I pull it all out, do I just cap off all the PCV lines?
