I always thought 55 seemed too low for 5th. It's alright to run 5th that low. I usually shift to 5th @ 60 to 65 and I always wondered if 60 was too low.

I'm goin to limit my runner to 60mph. what do you guys think is more effitient 55mph in 4th, or 65mph in 5th?
I think your XRunner could pull 5th gear at 55 mph. I had an '85 4Runner with a 22R-E, 5-speed manual tranny and 4.10 gears; it couldnt pull 5th gear untill you were doing 65 mph. That lil' 4-banger just didnt have the torque to pull 5th gear unless you kept it wound up above 2500 rpm.
