One of my friends has a 1987 Toyota truck with a 22R motor. Right now he has carbueration on it, but he would like to have EFI. Does anyone know where he could purchase this off a used truck or new? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! If someone knows of another site or classifieds or even someone to get into contact with it would really help!!!
You would need the intake manifold, wiring, injectors, plumbing for the injectors and computer from a 22R-E.
I wouldnt do it. You can do more with the 22R for mods than the 22R-E. You could slap a big ole 4-barrel carb on it with a racing cam and you'd have yourself a little barn burner.

Yeah, I know, you cant really call a 22R a barn burner but Ive seen a few that were modded for muddin' that were pretty impressive.
You wouldnt think that a 22R would be able to spin 33" tires fast enough to throw up much roost, but Ive seen a few that would do 4-wheel-drive burnouts.

Check out Ebay! I wouldn't Waste your time in doing all the dramatic crap that was previously mentioned, Cause you'd have no drivability, or reliability for that matter. It would be a lot of work to get the EFI goin though. You'd have a lot of wiring and rewiring to do just to get it running. Probably best to stick w/the carb set up and switch to some webers. Later on you/he could ponder swapping in a bigger motor of your preference from another make. I'm considering swapping in a 3L diesel into my rig.
