Head Work

88 Pickup R22 carburated

I screwed up the installation of my timing chain and crunched the valves while trying to turn the engine over with the starter. I fixed the timing issue, and did a compression check. Only cylinder #4 has any compression.

Besides the bent valves, what other issues should I be looking for?

How hard will be pulling the head?

Anybody know the cost of having a mechanic disassemble and reassemble?

Sounds like you would probably need a new head. I've got a mechanic that will do an uninstall, 200% port and polish, and reinstall for me for $200. Considering you need a head you might be able to find one at a junkyard for about $200. I'd say you're looking at atleast $500 in repairs.
