Engine

I was wondering, did Toyota make a 6 cyl. in the 87 Pickup model? If so, I want one. Anyone know a site with stats for that engine? Thanks alot. I already did a forum search, couldn't find it, so don't tell me to search .

I think that '88 was the first year for the 3.0L V6.
Heres some info I found on off-road.com:
The 3VZ-E V-6
  • 2959 cc, 180.5 CI
  • 150 hp @ 4800 rpm
  • 180 lb-ft torque @ 3400 rpm
  • 9.0:1 compression ratio
  • Bore/stroke 87.5 x 82.0
This motor was first used in 1988 4Runners. I get a lot of complaints about the head gaskets on early V6s.
Dont quote me on this, but I think you can drop in a 3.4L V6, which is a MUCH better engine than the 3.0L.

ah, thanks guys, so a 3.4 from any toyota? or should i probably just go with trucks since the cars are set up for fwd mostly. And is there anywhere/anyone who sells them? Could I use my stock drive train and 5 speed manual with a 5VZ?
